Credentialing

Professionally Grown and Still Growing

Are you a member of the growing community of Early Childhood and Afterschool professionals who are “Professionally Grown”? If you hold a valid credential or are participating in the credential application process, congratulations! You are one of close to two thousand individuals recognized for specialized knowledge, skills and activities. You deserve to be recognized and to display your professional credential(s) proudly, just as doctors, lawyers and other career professionals.

The annual Celebration is also growing! Each year, during the Week of the Young Child in April, early childhood and afterschool professionals from across the state come together to celebrate each other’s accomplishments and to recognize individuals and programs for quality achievements. Last April there were over three hundred in attendance in Concord! Please plan to be there April 24, 2012 and watch for future details. As someone said after our largest ever celebration last year, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had to move to a larger venue to accommodate this growing Celebration?

If you do not yet hold a credential, you can learn more about the NH Early Childhood Professional Development System and the NH Afterschool Professional Development System on the Department of Health and Human Services website at:

http://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dcyf/cdb/profdev.htm

Join the growing membership and be part of a system that supports quality care and education for children and youth through professional development.

Who can help you?    Your local Child Care Resource and Referral program as well as the Credentialing Specialist from the Child Development Bureau  is available to consult with you, and will work with you through the credential application process. Credential workshops are offered across the state and may be requested by child care and afterschool programs. Numbers of programs that have committed to having all staff credentialed are growing as well!
