Core Knowledge Areas: Developing as a Professional and Building Family & Community Relationships

We acknowledge that parents are children’s first teachers and the most important people in their lives. When a difficult situation arises during our relationship with parents it is reassuring to know that there are ways to negotiate these choppy waters. This workshop will assist the participants in developing some strategies for effective communication while appreciating parent perspectives. Active listening, positive pre-suppositions, and problem solving techniques, and ideas about how to initiate conversations in a non-threatening and respectful manner are some of the topics covered. Go home feeling empowered and reminded that parents are our partners.

To register, call Melanie Mallett at 752-1113 ext 3066 or email mmallett@ccsnh.edu
