Program Assessment
Regular Program Assessment
Many tools are available to child care providers who would like to assess their program’s components. They can read the quality care pages on this website, and use some of the information to make changes to their program, thereby taking the first step to improving the quality of care provided. More formal assessment tools, such as one of the Environmental Rating Scales, may be used to assess the child care program. Information attained during these assessments may result in a need to implement changes that will help to improve the quality of the program.
A further step in program assessment and improved quality many be taken by child care programs when they become accredited by organizations such as NAEYC, NAA or NAFCC.
