Quality Care

As you read through this section, you will notice that Quality Care consists of many components.  They include, but are not limited to, a Qualified and Professional Staff,  a Safe and Healthy Environment, a Partnership with Parents and Licensing and Accreditation.

New and potential child care providers may use the information in this section to help assess their program’s quality or as a starting point in the process of establishing their program.

The information in this section may help families as they embark on their child care search.  Families may visit many child care programs and find vast differences in the physical environment, make up of the staff, size of the program, and different curriculums and philosophies.  Quality will look different from one program to another. “One size fits all” programs do not exist.  Each family should visit several programs and determine which one best meets their child’s and family’s needs.

What do Quality Indicators look like in child care?  Use this Checklist as a tool to help you evaluate a child care program.

This section will help families know what to look for as they visit programs, and ultimately decide which child care provider they will use.
